| Abstract: | Longe de se afrouxarem de todo após a emancipação política da ex-colônia portuguesa, os vínculos entre a história de Portugal e a do Brasil vicejaram, nas penas de publicistas e atores políticos do antigo reino e da ex-colônia, em discussões sobre a restauração do império luso-brasileiro. São os desafios impostos nas décadas iniciais de construção dos Estados Nacionais, nos dois lados do Atlântico, que este artigo busca analisar. |
| metadata.dc.description.abstracten: | The bonds between Portuguese and Brazilian history were far from loosened in the years that followed the political emancipation of the former Portuguese colony in America. The debates about the restoration of the Luso-Brazilian Empire survived in the writings of publicists and political actors, in the old kingdom as well as in the former colony. In this article we intend to analyse the challenges posed in the first decades of the building of the Nation-States on both sides of the Atlantic. |
