Resumo
The Brazilian Curricular Parameters for basic education emphasize the importance of differentiated approaches in the teaching and learning process for disciplines such as science and geography. Among these approaches, the field works emphasize the importance for providing the opportunity for learning through the direct observation of nature. In this paper, we present the great educational potential of some selected sites that integrate the Geological Heritage of the Quadrilátero Ferrífero Geopark for the realization of fieldwork for basic school level considering the disciplines of science and geography. In the case of science teaching, the geosites analyzed from the Quadrilátero Ferrífero Geopark encompasses the demands of the both thematic axes: earth and universe, and life and environment. For geography, lithosphere and tectonic movements, relief forms and environmental preservation. It is believed that the realization of fieldwork in the Quadrilátero Ferrífero Geopark for the teaching of science and geography can contribute to improve the teaching and learning process in a playful way as well as contribute to the diffusion of knowledge and valorization of geological heritage.
