metadata.dc.description.abstracten: | This paper, as one of the partial results of post-doctorate research on a history of making and thinking of modern stage lighting, in addition to present some issues regarding such propositions, aims to establish some thinking groundwork of stage lighting between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. For this purpose, it articulates, especially in the thinking of Adolphe Appia and Gordon Craig, the relation between advances provided by electric lighting and reconfigurations of puppet theater traditions, as studied by Cristina Grazioli, in a proposition of stage modernization, considering the production ways, either lighting and stage, in their cultural contexts. |
